I was in a state of hopelessness and without direction when God invaded my life!

Younger years

Even as a young boy I mingled with the wrong crowd – older guys, gangsters, drug addicts. And as a result, I too experimented in these evils. These guys were made out to be respected, popular, and cool. I longed to be with the in-crowd and to be considered a prominent member of the community. As a young boy of 13/14 years of age, I was looking for identity. And I was drawn to this image held before me.

Taking the wrong route

I made a decision to give myself over to gangs, drugs and women. Plunging in wholeheartedly, this kind of life absorbed me completely. Gradually my life went down hill. I was forced to do bad things and gradually I was losing myself. I began breaking in, stealing and hurting people. To me, this lifestyle became normal. I ended up being imprisoned numerous times, every time promising myself that I will change. But I kept breaking these promises.

Rock bottom!

I was totally without direction. Everyone gave up on me: my family and even my gangster buddies turned their backs on me. Nobody wanted anything to do with me. I aimlessly wandered round the streets of Worcester. I hit rock bottom. I totally lost my identity. I couldn’t even look at myself in the mirror. I realised that I was in a bad place! I lost all human dignity. It was a lonely place I found myself to be in.

HELP!!!

I needed help! I went to a friend who was in the same boat as I was, but whose life was turned around after going through the Change Maker program.

Meeting the Lord in Moria House

I was admitted to the program, and here I had an encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ. He radically changed me, building into my character, giving me hope for a future, taught me all about self discipline, restoring dignity, reconciling me to my family and my children. What transformation took place!

Bible School

After completing the program I miraculously found a good job, even though I don’t have qualifications. I joined the Change Makers’ Bible School where I learnt so much about God and I am still learning! God has been taking me on a healing and restoration journey. I continue to learn about him and I’m becoming stronger in Christ.

I am a happy man. I found a beautiful lady to spend my future with. We got married 9 December 2023. I hope that others are encouraged and blessed by my testimony.
